ATA 06 Dimensions & Areas

ATA 06

Dimensions and Areas.

This chapter handles about all dimensions and areas (zoning).

What are dimensions and/or areas?

This are all measurements of all large parts. The wings, the body or fuselage, pylons, horizontal and vertical stabilizers, etc.

Every airplane design engineer or constructor haze his own way of defining curtain points on every part. Some use stations other use zones. Sometimes they talk about ribs, or frames. The purpose of this chapter is to be able to located any component in a minimum of time and this as a extra add to the maintenance manual. Within the “Fault Isolation Manual” or “FIM” there is also a chapter handling about component locations.  The main thing is that you remember that ATA 06 is the chapter if your looking for dimensions and/or areas.
